Trallwm Farm animal sanctuary is a family run concern that receives no public funding of any kind. Money is raised through donations and fund raising and nobody gets paid for the help they give these creatures. Every penny is spent feeding, transporting, maintenance, healing and training the animals in our care.
The sanctuary helps horses, cows, pigs, geese, ducks, chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats and some dogs and cats too. There are very few places in the UK who can take farm animals so a lot of our rescues travel a long way to get to us.
Some animals are available for adoption. Some will spend their lives here because of age, previous abuse or health problems; you can help these animals to live a better life by sponsoring them and helping them to get extra treats, new rugs and lots of love.
Up to date information on the animals currently looking for homes is available if you click the Facebook link.
Adoption Policies
All viewings are done by appointment only, please respect the fact that this is a private home as well as a sanctuary and there are no paid staff. Therefore we do everything ourselves and cannot stop at the drop of a hat however well intentioned the visit.
Animals available are on the forum, please have a look and call us if you think something seems suitable. You will need to provide written references usually and sometimes also have a home check done. You need a reference from your vet and if adopting a horse, also one from a qualified riding instructor stating your level of ability.
We find suitable homes for our animals, not animals to fit homes.
Once you have your references, call us and read them to us to make sure it is what we need. Then you can make an appointment to come and see a suitable animal. For horses, we ask you to sign a permanent loan contract. This means if for any reason you cannot keep our horse it is returned to us, you may not sell it. You will be asked for a donation to cover running costs and the horse comes with tack and rugs. We do not allow breeding from any animal and we do not support hunting or puppy farming.
If you wish to ride a horse on viewing day you will be asked to sign a disclaimer. No horse is reserved until the donation is paid and contracts are signed. However we may agree to hold interest in an animal if you have booked a fairly soon viewing.
We recommend insuring your animals to avoid large vets bills which are becoming increasingly larger these days. We cannot guarantee the health or temperament of any animal but we are always honest about everything we have been told and have seen for ourselves.
