King Street Gallery welcome Dela Astbury to the Chate Room with a tribute exhibition to mark 300 years of the great equestrian artist George Stubbs.
“I have been painting all my life having been born into an artistic family that goes back to ‘Astbury The Potter’ contemporary of Josiah Wedgewood. By instinct I wish to convey the spirit of the natural environment and have long enjoyed painting local land and seascapes. I have produced several commissioned works mainly in the form of animal portraits. As owner, rider and breeder of Arabian horses I have been particularly occupied in producing art work inspired by these. As an admirer of George Stubbs (1724-1806) I dedicated my last exhibition to him and welcome the opportunity to give a talk on his life and influence during my exhibition at King Street Gallery.”
