Getting too popular to fit into its regular site in the Swansea Valley the 2015 Festival of the Celts will this year be held at Glangwenlais Farm, Cilycwm, near Llandovery, SA20 0TF.
This sustainable little weekend of family friendly events (July 24th-26th) can now accommodate more camping and more caravans too.
The sounds of pipes and fiddles from the cream of Irish, Welsh, Manx and Scottish musicians will drift across the site all weekend and there will be workshops on sustainable living and related interests. The whole festival is powered by solar power.
Each day the best tales in Wales of legends and myth can be heard in the story-telling yurt, while there will be plenty of activity around the site from morris and clog dancers to arts and crafts.
Irish master fiddler Caitlin Barrett and her band The Roving Crows headline on the Friday, which is full of great Welsh artists including Sion Russell Jones and the fabulous Kizzy Crawford, formerly of Llandeilo.
Another top Irish act, The Weebag Band, just back from touring the Americas and soon off to Puerto Rico, play Saturday afternoon before Blackwood’s funk roots powerhouse, the Bleedin Noses. Also on the bill are Swansea band Lost Tuesday Society and Ceredigion trio Platform One.
Highlight on Sunday evening are Scottish musos Hunter & The Bear, fresh from touring with Eric Clapton.
The eclectic music theme on Sunday includes the fabulous valley voice of Tyara Fontaine, who has shot to the top of the bill on several European Jazz festivals this summer, including a late addition to the Brecon Jazz and as special guest with the Jools Holland tour in the winter.
Earlybird ticket prices are available until July 11th.
Weekend Camping Tickets are £45 for adults, day tickets are £15. A range of concessions apply for children. Weekend ticket without camping is £30 for adults.
