Anglia Ruskin University has announced that it will be increasing tuition fees to £8,300 from September 2012.
The university is one the the largest in the East of England and has one campus in Chelmsford and another in Cambridge.
From September 2012, new UK and EU full-time students starting foundation degrees or Higher National Diplomas and Certificates will be charged £7,500. All other new students starting full-time undergraduate degree courses will be charged £8,300.
The new fees will be effective as of September 2012 and are just below the cap set by central Government of £9,000.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Thorne, said "currently more than 90% of our undergraduates are in work or further study 6 months after leaving us, which is a success story, but this needs continued investment if we are to improve it given current national economic pressures."
