Wow what a day it has been.
I arrived at Christ Church New London Road Chelmsford about 10am, I was very excited about this new project that was about to start.
About 6 months ago we started to put plans in place to start a new dementia activity centre in Chelmsford. It took ages to find the right venue. Out of the blue I found Christ Church. Its a perfect place the room we are using has just had a compleate refurbishmnent and is warm light and comfortable, just the right atmosphere for about 15 club members.
All my fab staff we already on site when I arrived and we had a run through of the plans for the day. it wasn't long before our first club member walked through the door, she looked a bit nervous but it wasn't long before my great staff had her feeling at ease and at home.
We had an icebreaker by playing musical bingo which everyone really enjoyed. Lunched was serverd at 12.45 beef cobbler was on the menu followed by jam sponge and custard.
The afternoon started with Wendy Podnesly a wonderful entertainer singing some of the songs from the 40s and 50s It wasnt long before she had everyone up dancing and singing, the atmosphere was fantastic.
I want to thank all my wonderful staff for all their hard work in making this first day so succsessful.
