Debra Woods and Patrick Lench were lucky to escape a jail term this week after they were ordered to pay back over £28,000 in criminal earnings from Ebay sales.
The pair, who live in Chelmsford, traded online from their home and used several different accounts to sell fake Nike trainers for up to £40 per pair on the online auction site.
Ebay initially warned them to cease trading in May 2008, but they continued to sell the illegal items until their home was raided by Trading Standards in August 2008.
The pair were sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court today and ordered to pay back the £28,000 they earned during their six month crime spree, as well as almost £7,000 in costs.
