5 tips to help you be safe when getting a taxi
Tip 1. Try to book your taxi well in advance. If you are going out and will need a taxi in the early hours to get home book one from a company you know.
Tip 2. keep conversation with your taxi driver to a strictly professional basis. 'The last thing you want is for the taxi driver to get the impression that you want them to be over familiar.
Tip 3. Always sit in the back. Female passengers are advised to do this as it keeps you at a safe distance for the driver should there be any problems.
Tip 4. Have your keys ready. At night before you reach your destination have your keys ready so you are not left hanging around in the dark vulnerable.
Tip 5. Report any problems. If there is a problem with your taxi you should always report the problem to the police and the taxi office you booked with - you may help protect future passengers. If you are going to report a problem, try to remember what kind of car it was, the driver's name and registration number and when and where you were travelling.
