X Factor's Olly Murs will return to his hometown of Chelmsford this weekend to switch on the Christmas lights and perform songs from his new album.
The star of last year's X Factor will perform two songs from a specially constructed stage on Chelmsford High Street on Sunday, 28th November, from 4:30pm.
Following that, he will join Chelmsford Mayor, Alan Arnot to switch on the Chelmsford Christmas lights.
Olly Murs explained how happy he was to be invited back to Chelmsford for such a major event in the town's calendar: “I am so pleased to be switching on the lights in Chelmsford.
"I’ve been up and down the country for the past few months. Coming back to my home town means a lot. I look forward to singing for everyone.”
Refreshments will be available from a variety of stalls around the High Street area throughout Sunday.
Local families are advised to arrive early for what is expected to be an extremely busy event.
