I recently visited shwings for my birthday last night with high hopes as I have loved coming here previously so was excited to return on my birthday, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Not only were we overcharged, but the staff's refusal to rectify the situation added to my disappointment. I’m not here to get a discount or free meal but to show there was a lack of communication and resolution to my experience with management.
As a returning customer I was excited to go here as a celebration and take my dad. We have been multiple times and never had issues before. The restaurant was busy for a Tuesday night and that was great to see, the service was slow however the manager came and explained there was staff absent and sat at our table to take the order after a waiting for a while, I’m assuming this was the owner after explaining the absences.
Shwings do an unlimited night where you can pick between a classic and special menu and they bring you wings from the chosen. The waiter took our orders himself and we chose to have one of each.
As I received the bill, I immediately noticed that the total amount was higher than anticipated. Confused we approached the cashier to ask for clarification. We had order one classic unlimited wings and one special. I politely pointed out the discrepancy, hoping for a simple resolution. That they would change this to what we had ordered with the manager at our table, unfortunately the attempt to resolve the issue was met with resistance and from the staff. The member of staff called her manage who denied remembering what we had ordered after sitting at the table and ordering for us. Again just to clarify we didn’t/don’t want to get a free meal or discount just disappointed that the manager wouldn’t have explained this to us as he was sitting on the table taking the order.
Despite explaining the mistake the staff refused to rectify the situation as the manager had instructed on the phone. This was a shame as if this was explained before we could have chosen accordingly but was made to be our fault and the error was not acknowledged.
In addition the flavors were very decent, the wings were small and not too crispy in texture however your getting unlimited so it’s not an issue. We had 5 portions of wings each all 5 classic flavours and 5 off the special menu. Not 16 as plates as stated below.
Ultimately, my recent experience at shwings was marred by the overcharging issue and the staff's refusal to rectify the situation. While the flavors of the wings were good , the customer service of resolving the issue was underwhelming. Hopefully, the management of shwings takes these concern on board and works towards improving customer service and explaining clearly the “rules” that he has set out.
