Two of the stars of the Everyman's Panto will be familiar faces to all CBeebies viewers, as they are regulars in the hugely popular children's BBC TV series, Grandpa in My Pocket.
Zara Ramm from Stroud, will be playing the Fairy Godmother in this year's Cinderella, but she is well known to CBeebies fans as the delightfully dotty and enthusiastic Mum in the hit TV show. This is Zara's second pantomime at the Everyman: "Last year I played the wicked witch, so it's great to be a goodie this time and make everyone's dreams come true."
Alan McMahon who is playing Ugly Sister Germalina, stars as the whacky Inventor in the BBC TV children's programme. This is Alan's first visit to Cheltenham, although he is certainly no stranger to panto and he has donned a frock many times before.
Both were delighted when they learned they would be appearing together in Cinderella. "Grandpa in My Pocket is a fantastic show to work on but it's always great to do more theatre, especially Panto," said Alan and Zara.
Already into its third series (due to be screened next year) the TV show stars James Bolam as the Grandpa with a magic shrinking cap which only his grandson, Jason, knows about. When Grandpa puts his cap on, he becomes small enough to fit into Jason's pocket, not to mention his toy plane and car. Grandpa is playful and mischievous but always a force for good. He turns up in all sorts of unlikely places and creates comic mayhem which Jason has to sort out. Together, Grandpa and Jason make a great team and have a host of hilarious adventures.
Cinderella opens at the Everyman on November 26th and runs until January 8th. To book call the Box Office on 01242 572573.
