Micky Flanagan has announced that a Cheltenham Racecourse date has been added to his Spring 2011‘Out Out’ UK tour
“Gut-wrenchingly hilarious” ***** – Daily Mirror
“Excellent, funny and poignant” - The Observer
“Micky’s take on his working-class East End background is side-splitting..." – Sunday Times
“Arguably the funniest comedian in the country” – Frank Skinner
Fresh from a sell-out performance by stand up comedian John Bishop at Cheltenham Racecourse this January, the Cheltenham venue has announced that Live Nation, in association with CKP, will be presenting the renowned comedian Micky Flanagan in his ‘Out Out’ tour live on stage in The Centaur on 21st May 2011.
After numerous appearances on many UK-wide shows over the last few months, such as Live at the Apollo (BBC One), Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC One), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Mock The Week (BBC One) and Celebrity Mastermind (BBC One), Micky is no stranger to the national and televised comedy circuit and is selling out tour nights in some of the largest and most prestigious theatres around the country.
‘Side-splitting’ Micky draws on his East End background as he ruthlessly deconstructs the Cockney Myth with razor sharp observational wit. He tells a comic tale of a working class upbringing, where alphabet spaghetti is a luxury. Micky has come along way since then, thanks to a university education he is now a rare delight, a self-proclaimed ‘intellectual cockney’.
Susie Bradshaw, Conference and Events Manager at Cheltenham Racecourse says:
“We are thrilled that Micky Flanagan has chosen Cheltenham Racecourse as a date for his ‘Out Out’ tour, and are excited that he will be performing to fans live on the Centaur stage in May. He’s a well recognised comic with a loyal following, and we are confident that the show will be extremely popular with comedy fans all over the region. 2011 is proving to be a really exciting year for Cheltenham Racecourse events as we continue to book shows we know the public will really enjoy. We urge fans to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment.”
Cheltenham Racecourse has confirmed its status as a premier choice of venue for the world’s top acts with a thrilling year ahead of live shows in 2011. April will see Thank You For The Music live on stage at Cheltenham Racecourse, which features music from ABBA and the Bee Gees on one stage, and Brother Love’s Travelling Salvation Show will feature in a big-top tent on the racecourse grounds. Also promising to send your pulses racing, the smash-hit show The Magic of Take That will perform at the racecourse on Friday 20th May 2011.
Tickets for Micky Flanagan are priced at £17.50 and are on sale from Wednesday 23rd February 2011. Please visit the Cheltenham Racecourse website public events list at www.cheltenham.co.uk/conferences_events or call 01242 539538 for details.
