In order to win a Green Flag award, every park has to gain points related to certain key areas to show that the parks are:

clean and well-maintained

welcome places with community involvement

sustainable with conservation and heritage in mind.

Those parks achieving the Green Flag again are: Hatherley Park, Montpellier Gardens, Springfields Park and Naunton Park, These parks are among a staggering 1,447 parks and green spaces that have been awarded this prestigious award by Keep Britain Tidy, which is a national environmental charity.  Each park will have a green flag flying to denote to visitors that they are beautifully cared for with excellent facilities.

Paul Todd, Green Flag Award Scheme Manager said: “We are thrilled to announce yet another record-breaking year for Green Flag Award parks and green spaces.  A Green Flag Award provides national recognition for the hard work and dedication of all the parks managers, staff and volunteers who have helped to create these fantastic places for all to enjoy.
