The timeless classic Victorian tale comes to the stage with an all star cast.

Made popular by the BBC’s recent television adaptation starring Judi Dench, this is a witty and poignant comedy about early Victorian life in a genteel English country market town.

Inhabited largely by women, the community thrives on co-operation and gossip.  The domestic peace is constantly threatened by financial disaster, long-lost relatives, imagined burglaries and births and marriages.

Kirsten Cooke (best known for her role as Michelle, the Resistance leader in the hugely popular TV series ‘Allo, ‘Allo), Ben Roberts (The Bill’s Chief Inspector Derek Conway), Judy Buxton (Ruth in the comedy series On The Up) and respected film and television actress Hildegard Neil head the cast of this classy, stylish production.

The story, based on the novel by Mrs. Gaskell, is full of irresistible characters.  Their small adventures, absurdities and major tragedies will not only provide endless entertainment, but will also capture your heart.
