Cheltenham Borough Council and Public Health Gloucestershire are supporting The Street Games Project which is also working with the Council’s Sports Development team to form a core of volunteers who will support the delivery of community-based sports programmes across Cheltenham.

Craig Mortiboys, Health Communities Partnership Manager, says: “This is a great opportunity for any youngsters who enjoy sport and want to get into coaching. The experience and qualifications they will gain from taking part in the programme will be invaluable. All learning is done through sports sessions so no long days in a classroom.”

Councillor Rowena Hay, Cabinet member for Sport and Culture, added: “I’m delighted that we are supporting this project. Sport participation is a great way to develop and engage with children. We hope that young people who are passionate about sport will sign up to the programme so they can pass their passion on to others.”

If you would like to take part in the Coaching Programme you will need to be able to volunteer one to two hours a week and give ten hours voluntary time at the end of the programme to support Street Games sessions.
