The Orienteering Challenge is a course for beginners, and ideal for families to have fun, learn about orienteering, and discover new areas of the park. It involves participants collecting 13 letters from 13 posts sited around the park. These letters can then be arranged to make a word. Information leaflets about the Challenge can be obtained from PittvillePark’s Central Cross Café and the Boathouse.
Greg Best of NGOC, added: “We have enjoyed working together with the Council to give the people of Cheltenham a chance to try this gentle introduction to orienteering. Children and others will have fun searching for the posts. We hope that afterwards they may be tempted to go on and try the course at Crickley Hill, or to come to one of the regular orienteering events NGOC arrange in the local area.”
