The popular Midsummer Fiesta attracts crowds of up to 5,000, and promises to be an action-packed day with live music and dance performances; a marketplace with dozens of local stalls; a children’s village with inflatables, activities, go-karting, face painting and a petting zoo; classic and vintage cars; fairground rides; the popular 02 Rugby Village and football training with Cheltenham Town FC coaches.

The team need volunteers to help run the event on the day and their support is crucial. There are lots of activities for which volunteers are needed, such as meeting and greeting the music acts, setting up, helping with the prize draw, handing out programmes, helping with children's’ activities (for volunteers with a current CRB check); marshalling vehicles safely on and off the site and lots more. Volunteers are invited to a briefing session beforehand and are provided with a t-shirt, meal vouchers and access to drinks and snacks. There are also opportunities for breaks to enjoy the event as well.

Helen Down, Engagement and Participation Team Leader from Cheltenham Borough Council, said: “There is always a great atmosphere and team spirit at the Fiesta. Past volunteers of all ages have always enjoyed the day and many are returning this year.”

If you can spare some time on Saturday 6th July between 8am and 10pm and would be interested in helping, please contact Helen Down on: email helen.down@cheltenham.gov.uk or on 01242 774960.

There are also stalls still available for hire in the marketplace on the day. Artisans, charities, small businesses and public sector organisations have found the event to be a great way to interact with the thousands of visitors to the Fiesta. Previous stalls have included cakes, local produce, arts and crafts, gifts, jewellery, books, toys, games, activities, tombolas and more. If you are interested in hiring a stall for the day, visit the website www.midsummerfiesta.com for more details or contact Bernice Thomson on: email Bernice.thomson@cwep.co.uk or on 01242 692112.
