Maggie’s Cheltenham is the second Maggie’s Centre to be opened in England, and the seventh to be opened nationwide. The centre is located in a renovated Victorian lodge, a five minute walk from the main hospital. The centres are available to all who are affected by cancer, including family and friends. Maggie’s gives support from the point of being diagnosed, during and after treatment, and also bereavement services.
Maggie’s offers nutritional advice, support groups, relaxation classes and much more. They also provide a well-kept garden with private and discrete sitting places, as well as a comfortable setting with a kitchen and well-stocked bookcases. The centre allows access to survivorship and support groups as well as relaxation and meditation courses. The services that the centres provide are all free of charge and available for whenever it is needed.
