Blueleaf give away £500 to a worthy cause thanks to great suggestions
Cheshire-based digital agency Blueleaf would like to thank everyone who took part in their Christmas campaign where they asked for suggestions about whom they could give £500 to, to really make someone’s Christmas very special.
After a very tough decision, the Blueleaf elves settled on giving the money to James Cheetham – an 8 year-old boy from Manchester with a condition called Bronchiectasis. James was diagnosed with this illness as a baby and as a result is prone to infections and can’t clear his lungs himself.
James’ family and friends have been raising funds to buy an Airways vest for James which makes physiotherapy easier and to also take him to a clinic in Minnesota, USA which may be able to help him. With the funds raised so far, they have been able to buy the vest and are taking James to The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in February for a series of further tests.
James’ story and the courage, commitment and positivity of the Cheetham family and friends deeply moved the team, and they were delighted to welcome James, his sister Hannah and his grandparents Rose and Pete to their office last week. James was presented with a cheque for £500 and the Blueleaf team found out more about how this donation will help in the future.
The team were so touched by the suggestions they received during their campaign that they’re now putting their heads together to come up with some ideas to help the other worthy causes in many different ways.
