A local video production company is reporting an explosion in the number of businesses turning to online video marketing to promote themselves.
Richard Knew, Managing Director of Knew Productions in Rossett, says video is the fastest growing media platform in history and forward-thinking companies in the Wrexham and Chester area are realising its impact.
Thebestofchester website, a flagship for reputable local businesses, has recently been expanded to enable members to show their promotional videos on its pages.
“Google loves video and it’s a fact that people spend 40% more time on a web page if it contains video,” said Richard Knew, winner of the Best Corporate Video Award at the Institute of Videography Awards 2010.
“A short film is so much more appealing than text and it brings a product or service to life.”
Experts predict that, within four years, the web will become mostly video and consumers will expect to view information in video format.
“We create videos to suit all budgets and audiences, for clients ranging from the National Trust to local charities and small businesses,” said Richard.
Knew Productions recently created a web film for independent financial advisors Innes Reid, based in Chester. After just a day of filming and two days editing, the two minute video was ready to upload to their website and You Tube.
“The objective of the video is to make us stand out from our competitors whilst also providing a visual sales pitch,” said Mark Reidford, Managing Director, of Innes Reid. “It provides a great insight into our company that you would only otherwise get from visiting.”
At thebestofchester, demand from members to upload video continues a pace. “There is overwhelming evidence that online video productions help consumers to empathise with brands, products and services, with vast potential to improve click-through rates,” said Managing Director, Paul Daniels.
