FIRST Great Sutton Scouts are happy campers thanks to funding from homebuilder Redrow.
The Scout group is based around a mile from Ledsham Garden Village, where Redrow is creating a thriving community of 2,000 homes across two neighbouring developments, Oaklands and Sycamore Green.

Near neighbours Redrow donated £750 via its Ledsham Garden Village community fund to provide new tents for the Scouts.
Group Scout leader Dave Burrows explained: “We’re a big Scout group with 120 young members and after 30 years’ use the canvas tents had worn thin. Repairs had been made, but the old tents were leaking and needed replacing. Redrow’s generosity has enabled us to purchase two new canvas tents, large enough to sleep 12 Scouts in each. We first used the new tents in August at the annual summer camp in Staffordshire and the Scouts were thrilled. They said it was good to get a good night’s sleep without the risk of leaks. We all thank Redrow for their kind donation.”

Redrow has shared £15,000 among community projects in the area surrounding Ledsham Garden Village, helping to ensure that the neighbourhood continues to thrive as it grows.
Elaine Mounsey, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Groups like the Scouts play an important role in helping young people develop a sense of community. When we heard that the Scouts’ tents needed replacing we were happy to help. We hope that with the new tents they will be able to enjoy lots more adventures and create memories that will last a life time.”
