Last summer Iestyn Owen, a 2nd Year Business and Marketing student from Chester University embarked on a summer placement at the locally based recruitment firm Easy Online Recruitment.
The placement came about as a direct referral from Paul Daniels, MD at thebestofchester who put the business in touch with Lesley George at the University.
Iestyn’s work included designing from scratch a “lumpy mail” marketing campaign that targeted businesses of all types and sizes throughout the UK, sending them an innovative gift (A USB Cup Warmer!), along with a letter written by the Managing Director, Adam Butler, 2009’s Winner of Cheshire’s Young Business Person of the Year.
The campaign, along with Iestyn’s work ethic, reliability, and eagerness to learn meant that he was invited to stay on with the business well beyond the initial 6 week period, and in fact not only did he stay all summer, but has maintained part time work for Easy Online Recruitment ever since.
Adam Butler, Managing Director, Easy Online Recruitment commented “Iestyn has been a valuable addition to our team ever since the first day he arrived in the business. With my current Office Manager due to go on maternity leave, and Iestyn finishing his Degree very soon, it seemed like a natural progression for him to fill the post. I was delighted that Iestyn saw as much potential in our business as we saw in him, and he is joining us full time from May”
He’ll certainly have his hands full! There are new office premises planned before the summer, and he will also manage supplier relationships, invoicing an ever growing list of clients, and support the marketing activity for the business.
We wish you a long and successful career!
