The TommyT Children's Golf Tour, exclusively for 3 – 11 year olds, completed the 2011 season with its final event at Pryors Hayes Golf Club on Sunday 18th September.
Throughout the 2011 season four events were played including the Tour Championship at Brookfield Golf Club. An Order of Merit points table for each age group was tightly competed for going down to card playoffs in some cases to decide the winners and runners-up.
The Tour received generous sponsorship from Joseph Heler Cheese makers and Abbey Removals with medals and Tour badges presented to all competitors at the Tour Championship.
Tour Organiser Roger Shutt commented “In its 1st year the Tour proved to be very popular with juniors aged from as young as 3 years up to 11 year olds keen to compete within their age group.
The standard of golf was quite amazing with a few promising Golfstars of the future producing some great golf. Next year we intend to run events throughout the North West including a new age group category for 12-13 year olds”.
