A weekend break for the Spireites
3rd December 2011

After a pulsating local derby against Sheffield United last weekend, there is no match due to it being F.A. Cup weekend, with Spireites no longer in it.

In a game that could have gone either way, Chesterfield unlucky to end up the losing side, a draw would have been a fair result. The Spireites more than matched the blades, it was only a great individual goal from Evans that separated them.

The crowd were magnificent getting behind the Spireites led by Yogi the Drummer, and Jack Lester came on near the end to a great round of applause from all sides of the ground. If the Spireites can keep putting in performances like that, they could soon climb the table.

Its great to see Griffiths back on loan from Peterboro, he put in a good performance, made good tackles and good forward runs, the team have missed his energy. Lester back and Robertson almost fit, hopefully Tommy Lee isnt too far away, this will hopefully lift the team. The dressing room has missed Jack Lester, his passion and never say die attitude and determination. With another week before the next league game at Wycombe, it gives the team a chance to prepare for what will be a big six pointer. Hopefully the confidence of the team will have been boosted by a victory in the JPT at Preston on Tuseday night.

Hopefully the Spireites season starts now, and a couple of good results could see Town climbing the table.
