Bowery had his best ever game as he scores two goals for the Spireites, twice giving Chesterfield the lead only for Yeovil to equalise on both occasions. In a game where the Yeovil's keeper pulled off some great saves, the woodwork twice denying Town and an unlucky own goal from Allott, it could have been an easy victory for the Spireites. Bowery was man of the match by a mile, he could have had 4 goals. His second goal was awesome, he was fouled by their defender, he showed his strength to keep the ball, out pace the defender and the on rushing keeper. Hopefully he can build on this and repay the faith that the manager as in him.

Sheridan made six changes, although one was forced on him, Talbot had to miss his first game of the season as he was at the maternity ward with his partner. The back four and the keeper was a complete new line up to the one that played at Brentford. Sheridan this week signed two new players on loan, Goalkeeper Ole Soderberg Swedish U21 International from Newcastle, and Neal Trotman a no-nonsense centre half from Rochdale. Trotman played under Sheridan at Oldham, he has been swapped with Holden who has gone the other way, which could be a permanent switch. Mattis and Ford came back in to the team from injuries. Randall was out with his back and Morgan also failed to make the squad due to a virus.

The gamble nearly payed off, with Chesterfield putting on a good display. They just need to keep up this level of performance and things will turn around for the Spireites. With two Cup games coming up next, it gives the new players a chance to settle in.
