Lester came in for Boden, the only change from the Rochdale game. Chesterfield put some lovely moves together, although Morgan kept getting caught offside, he needs to time his runs when playing upfront. An easy tap in for Stevenage gave them the lead, after a defensive mix up. Although the Spireites came close to equalising, a cross from Talbot saw Lester hit the post with a header from only 2 yards out.

The second half Chesterfield were determined to equalise, putting some good moves together, Talbot was providing the main threat for Chesterfield.  Nathan Smith was linking up well with the midfield, he also made two crucial diving tackles to win the ball. Downes although he was great in the air, his distribution was poor, letting Stevenage back in.

Stevenage using their physical side to make it hard for Chesterfield, they eventually over did it, when Bostwick made a late tackle on Allot, which earned him a second yellow.  This meant Chesterfield were now playing against 10 men. It just made Stevenage even more defensive. Chesterfield kept taking the attack to Stevenage, unable to find away through.

One of their players went down injured and the St John Ambulance came on with a stretcher, then the player decides to get up. So the Fourth Official added 6 minutes on, which was greeted with a loud cheer from the Spireite fans. Still Chesterfield couldn't find a way through the stubborn Stevenage defence. Just has the Spireite fans were resigning to themselves to a third defeat in in a row, a cross from Morgan was met by Lester to equalise with only 15 seconds left.

Chesterfield earn their first point of the season, in the end determination and a never say die attitude earned them a deserved draw. If they can play at the same level against Preston on Tuseday, it will be enough to earn the Spireites their first win of the season.
