The Spireites play their biggest game of the season against Preston

Chesterfield welcome Preston North End, both sides are looking for their first win of the season.  With Preston having to come to terms with life in League One, after being relegated from the Championship.

Preston will be a big test for the Spireites, although the side as improved since their opening defeat to Tranmere. Although defensive mistakes in all 3 games have proved costly. They will need to be solid at the back because they could be severely punished by a very experienced Preston attack containing Mellor and Hume.

Preston have experience throughout the team, with Clarke Carlisle at centre back on loan from Burnley, organising the defence. Graham Alexander the midfielder who sits behind the two centre midfielders, returns to the club from Burnley, having previously been at the club for 10 years. Leading the attack is Ian Hume, a dangerous goal scorer.

Last season the Spireites played their best football on the big occasions, especially the night matches at home. With any luck, the Leagues' best drummer will be back from his holiday to get the crowd going and supply the club with their twelfth man.  Hopefully a big crowd will be there to witness the Spireites first victory of the season.
