The Adonis blue butterfly can be found in warm, low-lying areas. They love sheltered spots, and their brilliant blue colour of the male butterfly is quite exquisite to spot. They can primarily be found flying over low vegetation, and is strictly found in the Sussex areas, Dorset, South Wiltshire and East Kent.
The male and female butterflies are very different in appearances. The male exhibits an electric blue colour, while the female is found to be a lovely chocolate brown. If you find one butterfly, chances are you will find many more, as they tend to stay in colonies together, and do not travel independently far distances.
Take a lovely autumn stroll in the West Sussex areas, and discover the true beauty of the Adonis Blue Butterfly.
