In typical English fashion Cirencester Community Development Trust launched the Food Passport on a wet and cold Friday last week serving up samples of the first recipe. Luckily for us the recipe this month is a hot and hearty chilli con carne with sweet potato wedges for the Little Green Wiggly Machine - it was worth braving the weather for!
Over 50 people got to sample the recipe and went away with the secret that makes Laurence's chilli so good. You can make it yourself here.
The recipe features ingredients from our town's independent retailers including the Market Garden on Dyer Street whose fruit and veg is always fresh, full of flavour and perfectly ripe. Worth a trip to get your peppers etc. for the chilli.
Don't forget you could win a meal for four at the Little Green Wiggly Machine this month if you buy local - check out the recipe card for more details.
Next month our recipe comes from Jacks Cafe and will be a sweet treat to celebrate Easter - watch this space!
