Spring half-term is rapidly approaching and Cirencester is a veritable hub of excitement and activity with a long list of things to keep the kids and the adults amused for the week. There are lots of things to do locally which are free as well as some great events all over Gloucestershire and The Cotswolds.
The bank holiday weekend will see the arrival of South Cerney Duck Race Day which is the biggest free event in Gloucestershire. From 10-5 on bank holiday Monday there will be live music, stalls, fairground rides, food, army vehicles and much much more! For more details click HERE. As part of the Duck Race Weekend will be the British Cycling Event on Sunday 26th which will begin with a lesson from a British Cycling Coach suitable for 6-14 year olds and will end with pro’s whizzing through the village. For the adults there is a beer festival at Five Mile House nr Duntisbourne Abbots, near Cirencester on 25th May. For the kids, the Corinium museum has some organised activities including fossil workshops and puppet making whilst New Brewery Arts will give people the opportunity to take part in jewellery workshops for the young and old. They also have ceramics and bronze casting workshops too!
For those wanting to take advantage of what will no doubt be wonderful bank holiday weather, South Cerney Outdoor will be having another of its taster days with all activities just £10 each including Kayaking, Canoeing, Windsurfing and Sailing. And if you fancy getting wet but dont want to worry about a wet-suit then visit the lovely Open Air Swimming Pool in Cirencester.
Cirencester Parish Church Tower will be open on 1st June for those wanting to get a birds-eye view of our beautiful town.
