The 6th May 2013 is the day South Cerney Outdoor opens its doors to the whole community to come and try all the activities and adventures on offer. The centre will be open from 10am-5pm, and a wide range of fun activities for the whole family has been planned. Entry to the event is FREE so anyone can come and see what the centre does. And if you want to try your hand at what’s on offer, then just £10 will allow you to try out ALL of the activities including; Kayaking (will you dare try out the Kayak slide?), Stand-up Paddling, Dinghy sailing, Windsurfing, Archery, Underground tunnels, Guided Canoe Tours, Family Boat trips and more....!

South Cerney Outdoor in situated on Lake 12, which is one of the Cotswold Waterparks oldest, deepest and biggest lakes. The lake and land are also a site of Special Scientific Interest. Having been saved from closure, the outdoor centre was taken over by Prospectus and their vision is to make more young people to benefit from using the facility. This open day will showcase everything the centre has to offer.  They have a great range of equipment and their highly qualified instructors will be on hand help and advise where necessary.


Other activities available on the day will be:

• SUP Fit with Becky – A fantastic body conditioning work out suitable for all ages, on an over-grown surfboard.  It will literally rock your world!

• Dinghy Sailing – Suitable for novices to the well seasoned sailor.

• Canadian open canoeing - Take control of your own canoe guided around the lake by one of our top class and instructors. You'll learn techniques, tricks and all about the lake and its eco-system.

• Kayaking - Take out a kayak (one or two person) and have a play on the lake. Suitable for both adults and kids.

• Lugger Ship - Trip around the lake on our Lugger ship. Suitable for all ages.

• Bath Tub & Wheelie Bin Racing - Green Dragon Activities will be coming along and bringing along some fun things to race on.

• Corracles – Green Dragon will also be bringing along some fantastic Corracles which could have you spinning round in circles!

On the day there will be some exclusive special offers on courses and experiences and Jesse Smiths Butchers will be on hand with their Giant Frying pan to supply hungry tummies with their wonderful bacon baps and beef and onion burgers.  

Don’t let your May Day Bank Holiday in The Coltswolds be a bore, there is a whole days worth of activities at South Cerney Outdoor near Cirencester.

The safety of yourself and your group is paramount and all the staff are highly qualified and experienced instructors in RYA Sailing and Windsurfing and/or BCU Canoe and Kayak paddling.
