Town Benchmarking with Cirencester Community Development Trust
7th and 14th November 2013 9.30 – 12.30
Hot drink @ local café provided!
Join Hannah from Cirencester Community Development Trust (CCDT) to find out what businesses think of trade in our town. Findings from the day will form part of the Action for Market Town’s Benchmark Report for Cirencester and help influence future policy and decision making in the town centre for business.
The first day will involve taking questionnaires to local businesses, if your confident to do so perhaps completing the questionnaire whilst you are there. The second day will involve collecting the questionnaires back in. Both days will end with a drink at a local café.
Background information:
CCDT are currently undertaking a Benchmarking Project in Cirencester. The Benchmarking Project has been conducted in over 140 other towns in England and involves capturing data on 12 Key Performance Indicators. We would particularly like your contribution on two of these KPI’s, Business Confidence and Shoppers Origin.
In regards to the ‘business confidence’ we will deliver questionnaires to local businesses. This will help us establish the trading conditions of town centre businesses and means local stakeholders can focus their efforts on looking at issues which are of concern and how to improve them.
The ‘shoppers origin’ of consumers provides a clear indication of the distance travelled, the scale of the catchment population, the density of penetration from specific areas and the visitor appeal of our town centre. A Post Code Survey will be delivered to businesses for them to gather customer’s postcodes at point of sale.
The information gathered will be included in the overall Benchmarking Project report. If you have any questions or queries before you agree to volunteer please contact Hannah Sturman by email hannah@cirencester.gov.uk or call 01285 655 646.
