  • Saturday 8th February - Until Saturday 24th May
New Brewery Arts and Heritage Crafts are proud to showcase the work of young makers in their upcoming show And The Work Goes On.
The show takes it name from a Willam Morris quote (William Morris, The Well At The World’s End: Volume 1, 1896), whereby he recognises the nature of continuous improvement and the joy and fulfillment making brings.  “With the arrogance of youth, I determined to do no less than to transform the world with Beauty. If I have succeeded in some small way, if only in one small corner of the world, amongst the men and women I love, then I shall count myself blessed, and blessed, and blessed, and the work goes on.”  William Morris, The Well At The World’s End: Volume 1, 1896
The exhibition will take place at New Brewery Arts in Cirencester from the 8th February to 24th May 2025 in the gallery space. Entrance will be free to all.  It aims to highlight the wealth of skill, thinking, heritage understanding and imagination in the craft sector, played out in the hands of young makers.  It will feature the work of 15 makers under the age of 25, many of whom are just starting out in their career and navigating the professional world of craft.  There will be a diverse range of crafts on display – including jewellery, textiles, blacksmithing, ceramics, stained glass, stone-dry walling, botching and more – from makers based across the breadth of the UK.
