Colchester is going through a time of major change. With a wide range of achievements already made and more exciting plans in the pipeline, Colchester Borough Council is giving you a voice this weekend, inviting the general public to see and comment on plans for the future of our town centre.
The Council has been working with partners to prepare Colchester – which is seeing a period of rapid growth – for a positive, resilient future and a ‘Better Town Centre’, investing in and improving a number of key facilities and infrastructure, such as public spaces, transport, access, street scenes, new buildings and creative opportunities.
Want to know more about the new bus station, and how Osborne Street and Stanwell Street will be transformed? Plans and visuals will be unveiled this Saturday between 10am and 4pm at St Nicholas House (formerly JJB Sports) on the High Street, Colchester.
In addition, Colchester Borough Council will be consulting on the Better Town Centre plan until July 27th, which is centred on reinvigorating the town’s historic centre, not only during the day, but also in the evening and night. This consultation is intended to inspire thought, debate and action on the various challenges facing Colchester town centre.
It is your opportunity to discover more about the projects that form the Better Town Centre regeneration programme:
