There’s nothing like becoming a part of the local community and the team from Woodland View certainly did that as we took part in the Colchester Carnival.
As the latest addition to the Barchester family of care homes, we have a passion to become a true part of the Colchester community and when asked to take part in the carnival and lead the procession we jumped at the chance. During the course of the day we had many visitors to our stand sharing our passion with the public as we prepare to welcome residents to our stunning new home later this year.
The team were handing out Goody Bags to the show’s visitors and even the military were keen to get their hands on one. The bags contained a variety of goodies including a personalised cupcake baked by our award winning chef, Daniel Moss that he had been produced especially for the show.
Mark McDonald, General Manager at Woodland View said: “Woodland View Care Home will play an important role in the community and we are keen to strengthen links with local groups to support their charitable aims. As we have already established links with local charities through the naming of the home and our different communities, our participation in the Colchester Carnival is another great way to say hello to the local community and encourage people from the local area to pop in to the show suite for a cup of tea. I would like to thank everyone locally for the warm welcome we have already received and look forward to extending our hospitality when the home opens later this year”.
We will definitely be attending the carnival next year with Daniel Rowark, Deputy Manager keen to take part in the sponsored mascot race dressed as Barchy the Bear! Who knows he may even win Gold!
Kind regards,
Mark
