GUIDES in Congleton are glad to have Redrow in their camp – after the homebuilder pitched in to help with insurance costs.
Around 140 Rainbows, Brownies and Guides are supported by 30 adult volunteers in Congleton Cloud District. They enjoy fun and friendship at their weekly meetings, with camping a firm favourite activity.
Camping equipment is maintained and updated through regular fundraising and support from Redrow’s Congleton Community Fund has now contributed towards insurance costs.
Dorothy Dentith, from Congleton Cloud District, explained: “One of the highlights of Girlguiding is being outside for an evening, day, weekend or week as it helps them appreciate their surroundings, develop new skills, learn how to work as a team and explore leadership skills, which they will be able to use in their adult life.
“We use our camping equipment frequently and lend it to other local groups for fundraising and promotional events. We appreciate Redrow helping with our insurance costs. It gives us peace of mind that if anything happened to the equipment or our storage facilities we would be able to source replacements so we can continue to offer wonderful outdoor experiences.”
Congleton Cloud District is one of nine causes local to Redrow’s Cranberry Gardens development to receive a share of almost £6,000 via a voluntary community fund established by the homebuilder.
