The City of Coventry welcoming the Olympic Flame
Coventry will host the Olympic Torch celebration on Sunday 1 July 2012
The search begins for inspirational people to carry the Olympic Flame in Coventry! Who would you nominate in Coventry to carry the Olympic Flame through Coventry as part of the torch relay?
The public can nominate someone living in Coventry who has inspired them. Nominations can be made through the Olympic Torch Relay website – Here!
Anyone aged 12 or over at the date of being nominated can be a Torchbearer, apart from elected officials and paid London 2012 Games workforce.
You don’t have to run at all if you don't feel able to, you just need to be able to carry the Flame for 300 metres.
The Olympic Torch Relay will be diverse and inclusive, and people with disabilities will carry the Olympic Flame as well as those who do not have a disability.
In short - Being part of the torch relay in Coventry is open to anyone aged 12 or over!
