With schools breaking up in a couple of weeks, we’re all making plans for the summer holidays. Whether you’re feeling a bit daunted about filling those six weeks or really looking forward to some fun with the family, Crawley’s leisure centre, K2, has loads to offer.  

Some children like to do their own thing and K2 is running a children’s holiday club for 5-12 year olds with loads of kids’ activities every week day. The club runs from 9am-3pm and children can attend for either half days or full days. You can even book your kids in for a whole week! A variety of sports and games are offered each day including bouncy castles, swimming, street dance, climbing wall and there are even some trips to Go Ape at Tilgate Park scheduled for 2, 9 and 22 August.

If you like to join in with your kids’ activities (and promise not to cramp their style), K2 has lots on for families. The Olympic-size swimming pool has a slide and bucket tipper as well as a smaller pool for beginners. As well as swimming, you might like to introduce your children to some of the sports you enjoy. Badminton and squash courts are available to hire as well as the all-weather pitch and multi-games area. There is even a 12m climbing wall for the more intrepid.

If you’re feeling inspired by Andy Murray, you can be a winner too! The Junior Summer Fitness Challenge is a great way to try your hand at new sports and you can even pick up some rewards along the way. Young people are invited to keep a diary of all the activities they take part in over the summer, not just at K2 but also playing football in the park, going for a country walk or swimming in the sea. For every ten they complete, they receive a small prize and a reward voucher. Simply visit the website and download your entry form.

At K2, there are loads of kids activities going on this summer.  Your children can stay healthy and active – and they’ll be dying to tell their friends all about it in September.
