Lucky VIPs from across Crewe have become some of the only people in the UK to exclusively test drive the world’s first diesel hybrid car, the Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4, thanks to Gateway Motor Co Ltd.
At the special launch event, the 10 guests were given the opportunity to be one of the first people in the UK to drive the innovative new model, before its nationwide rollout.
The car, which was awarded Diesel Car Magazine’s ‘Best Eco Car of 2011’, five months before it went on sale, is an eco-friendly model that sets a benchmark for low CO2 emissions.
The HYbrid4 combines the fuel efficient 2.0 litre HDi 163 bhp diesel engine and a 37 bhp electric motor - an ideal combination for a hybrid vehicle as it provides good fuel economy particularly for inner city driving, and CO2 emissions of 99g/km on the Combined Drive Cycle.
Gateway Motor Co Ltd has been chosen by Peugeot to help launch the new HYbrid4, the first of many new car launches in 2012.

As a company car vehicle, the 3008 Hybrid4 hosts a series of strong fiscal benefits for drivers and employers. The benefits include 100% Capital write down on the cost of the vehicle in the first year, if purchased outright. The vehicle also sits within the lowest ‘Benefit in Kind’ (BIK) threshold, resulting in savings on Personal Company Car Tax, on top of that the 3008 Hybrid4 is also exempt from the road fund license.
The Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 range starts with a £26,600 model, with CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km and deliveries commence for the UK market at the end of January 2012.
