Market organisations are working together to develop the national Love your Local Market campaign in response to the Mary Portas Report on the future of our High Streets produced earlier this year.

The campaign runs until the 8th July and on the 6th and 7th, Croydon Council is making twenty-five pitches available for just £10 per day. The pitches will be fully equipped with tables, power and gazebos and each stall is fully insured.

Linked to Croydon's award of government start-up money from the Mary Portas regeneration pilot fund, this presents a fantastic opportunity for people with a product or idea to showcase it to a large readymade customer base. The stalls are in Surrey Street Market in the heart of Croydon's Old Town and as well as welcoming the traditional market goods and produce to join the existing traders, new and innovative ideas are encouraged to bring a fresh, modern aspect to the market.

With Croydon being named as having the highest concentration of young entrepreneurs in the country and an opportunity to test the waters without having to invest a large outlay, this is clearly a chance not to be missed.
