Croydon Council's annual scheme to find the borough's best bars, pubs and clubs was launched last week. Best Bar None is now in its seventh year, and always proves to be a popular incentive within the bar industry in the area.
Establishments have to get through a strict system of inspections, testing them on door policy, health and safety, staff training, customer care and ways of dealing with disorder.
An independent panel of judges select the overall winners in different categories, including best bar, best club and best pub, to be announced later this year.
Since its launch in 2003, Croydon centre has seen a considerable reduction in alcohol related crime and disturbances. Bar and pub owners take a proactive involvement now in how their own management takes responsibility for the conduct of their staff and clientele, and this has had a positive knock-on effect for the neighbourhoods.
So show your support for your favourite bar, pub or club in Croydon, and help them to become the Best Bar None!
