I have read recently that NCP car parks have decided to increase their already extraordinary prices yet again.
This is tragic news for Croydon as:
1- it will undoubtely drive shoppers further afield to places like Bromley (I was there myself yesterday and paid £2.70 for over 2 hours of parking) and Bluewater (where itʼs free)
2- it could also have an impact on all the recent effort made by various business organisation to attract existing business to relocate in Croydon and convince start ups that Croydon is the place to be.
However, it is good to see that the Council are taking action on this and have requested an urgent meeting with NCP.
If you, like me, are outraged by this, there is a number of options you have:
- boycott NCP altogether - I personally always park in Q Park, Surrey Street.
- my friend, Paul Collins of allabout Croydon has started a petition. To read some of the comments received and sign it yourself, please follow this link: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/notoncprates/index.html.
It takes less than a minute to do and could have a massive impact.
