The Do's and Don'ts waxing from Charlotte of London
The most common question asked about waxing is " will it hurt " and how painfull is it. Of course any form of hair removal is going to have an element of pain involved however there are things that you can do to reduce this.
We have put together a list of Do's and Don'ts for you to make the experience a lot more tolerable.
Do's
Exfoliate the day before your treatment to remove any dead skin and release any ingrown hairs. This will help to achieve a smoother wax.
Long hairs should be trimmed to about 2cm. Any shorter and the wax won't stick.
If you have a low pain threshold take a paracetamol 30 minutes before the treatment.
Wear loose fitting clothes after your treatment to allow the skin to breath.
Don'ts
Do not bath or shower for 24hours after the treatment.
Do not apply any perfumed products to the skin ie deodorant, shower gel, moisturiser, make up for at least 24 hours.
No swimming, steam or saunas for 24 hours.
Don't wear tight fitting clothes.
There are benefits to be gained from waxing and the majority of clients that do wax don't go back to the " Razor". Hairs grow back finer, softer, lighter and your skin is likely to feel softer and smoother. Providing you keep up a regular routine of waxing every 4 - 6 weeks you will get to see and feel the benefits for yourself.
