Happily for most of us, we will be enjoying an extended Bank Holiday weekend as half term hits, but if your children are anything like mine they have a short attention span and low boredom threshold.

A little bit of forward planning can hopefully keep them occupied and you borderline sane!

Monks Hill Leisure Centre has a programme of half term activities for 8 to 16 year olds to give you a bit of space and keep them out of mischief! From 6th to 8th June 10.00am til 3.00pm choose between Football coaching, Badminton, Dance or Dance cheerleading (and the Cheerleading is FREE!) They can work off a bit of energy, make new friends and learn a new skill, all for only £2 per session. Football will be outside so you'll need to make sure the children are suitably attired for all weathers. More details at www.fusion-lifestyle.com

Kidspace - The Ultimate Indoor Adventure Park!

Race round the mini Kart Track, tackle a game of Crazy Golf, or enter The Orb - the largest indoor play structure in the UK including a range of slides, mazes, labrynths and viewing pods. Watch out for the 8 metre high black hole slide! Toddler Village and Sensory Town, a mini version of the Orb plus a kart track, mini trampolines and the Yellow Submarine with underwater passages. Scale the climbing wall, run The Gauntlet of the race against time obstacle course or do battle in Thunderball City, a four level arena of softball guns, cannons and targets!

The Kidspace Crew are on hand to help and entertain, adults can relax for a while in The Centre, and of course there is a wide range of quality food and drinks for all. Prices are extremely competitive for both individuals and parties and there's so much to see and do your kids will want to go back time and again (Kidspace is a stunningly effective bribery tool!)

If the kids fancy some fun on wheels why not whizz along to one of the fantastic RocknRoller Discos held at various locations in the area. Public and private events for the whole family, in fact the adults often have more fun than the kids - bit of a throwback to those old Jackoskates days! To find full details of where and when you can find their public sessions or arranging your own private roller disco through their mobile service, (they can even help out finding a venue) check out their listing on our Business Services page.

Also worth a look is our Local Guide where you can find details of Sports, Social and Youth Clubs as well as Arts, Theatres and useful local services.
