‘Clean Sweep on Deal Beach’
Deal With It and the Marine Conservation Society held their quarterly a beach clean of Deal beach on Sunday 8th May. The twenty volunteers managed to collect and document some 13 sacks of rubbish from the beach weighing over 33kgs on Sunday morning.
Wendy Boorman , Deal Beach Warden said: “"it was a fantastic effort. We picked a lot of rubbish up in a relatively short stretch of beach in a short time. What was very disappointing was the sheer amount of broken glass from drinks bottles we found on Sunday. Which as well as being an eyesore is a danger to families enjoying our beach."
What do locals think could be done about the broken glass is this coming from those who just dont take their litter home or washed up from those dumping at sea and what are the answers?
