What is McTimony Chiropractic ?

McTimoney chiropractic is an holistic form of alternative therapy that is concerned with the welfare of the whole body. The emphasis in chiropractic and alternative therapy is on the cause of symptons rather than on the symptons alone.

Just as we people  suffer pain, discomfort and poor well being, so too do horses  and dogs suffer from back , neck, pelvic and musculo-sketetal problems. McTimony spinal therapy provides an effective alternative therapy to bring pain relief to our animals.

McTimoney-Corley Equine and Canine spinal therapy is an alternative, effective and natural treatment  which provides gentle yet   effective relief for chronic or acute back pain.

Treatment involves the use of  manipulative techniques known as adjustments. Using pressure massage, the McTimony technique relieves muscle tension and provides effective treatment for joint and back pain

Back Pain indications in Horses

  • Does your horse appear to be intermittantly lame?
  • Do you suspect that your horse is experiencing back pain?
  • Does she sometimes object to being tacked up?
  • Do you feel that your horse is not performing right
  • Have you noticed a resistance to flex, or to stiffness on a particular rein?

Back pain indications in Dogs

  • Have you noticed that your dog  appears reluctant to run or jump?
  • Does he sometimes appear to limp or appear to be lame?
  • Does she  have difficulty getting up or down?
  • Do you suspect that your dog is experiencing back pain?
  • Does she display signs of aggression. Of pain, unhappiness or reluctance to play?

Please note that whilst all of these symptoms can indicate a back problem, they often also occur as a result of other underlying causes. It is important that you first contact your vet to rule out any other possible causes.
