On Friday 11th December Durham handed in it's bid to be the first UK City of Culture.
If successful Durham could become a hub of UK cultural activity for the year, hosting such prestigious events such as the Turner Prize, BBC Sports Personality of the Year, The Brits and the RIBA Stirling Prize.
So far the support has been fantastic with over 33,000 people pledging their support. But Durham needs YOUR help and support to be the first UK City of Culture in 2013.
