The Daily Mail tells us this week that the Sleep Council has said that 25% of us regularly use alcohol to get to sleep. They suggest that many women drink more than their recommended 14 units week, at one sitting - because sleep eludes them.

Professor Jim Horne, a leading sleep neuroscientist, warns against relying on drinking  to do this - " It might knock you out, but alcohol tends to be metabolised quickly - so after four hours your blood levels will have plummeted, and this tends to cause you to wake up during the night in a state of agitation."

But, if this is happening on a regular basis - how long before alcohol dependency?

Effective Hypnosis has been successfully treating people for both alcohol dependency and sleep problems since 2000, in Ealing W5 2RS and Hillingdon UB10 0PS. We have nearly 300 testimonials to our work on this site. Please see www.effectivehypnosis.co.uk for further details.
