The Daily Express ran an article yesterday on using hypnosis to cut down on drinking. They were reporting on a newly published book called 'Drink Less In 7 Days' by Georgia Foster, and sent a reporter to attend one of Georgia's workshops.
Georgia stated that many of her clients found it easy to do Dry January, but went back to their old habits once February came. She says that this is because they make a conscious decision to abstain for a period, but the message doesn't get through to the deeper mind, so it is not permanent. Hypnosis, however, speaks directly to the unconscious mind, where habits are formed, and can lead to permanent change.
The reporter said that she was able to change her drinking habits.
