Does Dieting Make Us Depressed?

Researchers at University College London interviewed 2,000 overweight and obese people who were dieting - over a period of four years.

They lost an average of 5% of their body weight, but when questioned about their mood, told the researchers that they were disappointed that their lives had not changed as much as they wanted. In fact, reports the Daily  Mail, they were 78% more likely to be depressed than those who had not lost any weight.

This news would not enourage anyone in attempting to lose weight. At Effective Hypnosis emphasis is put on the emotional reasons for eating and understanding these can help us to plan a programme that will lead to not only losing weight but also feeling fantastic in every way.
