Last week The Times ran an article on the only NHS Problem Gambling Clinic - saying that it treats 900 gamblers a year. They pointed out that there are an estimated 300,000 addicted gamblers in the UK. Effective Hypnosis worked out that it would take 333 years to get them all treated.
Today The Times runs an article on the evils of online gambling - saying that there are 350,000 addicted gamblers in the UK. Does this mean that, in the space of five days, there have been a new 50, 000 people addicted to gambling? Is that 10, 000 a day?
Effective Hypnosis would like people to be aware that we tackle gambling addiction - without the need to sensationalise the issue.
